Nice to deal with the Charming Bench Company - chair came sooner than expected and they cleared up a small mystery regarding the shipping with prompt personal attention. The chair was very easy to assemble and the brass fittings are particularly nice. This is exactly what we wanted - a truly high-quality chunk of teak furniture that should last well outdoors for years. We didn't mind the price so long as we got something sturdy. Nice design and finish, too. I guess I'll note some things that have little to do with TCBC but just for general consumption - you will have to hammer in the tenon pegs; don't use a lot of glue. There are no specific instructions for actually hanging the thing as there are so many variables. We hung from eyebolts stuck into 2 x 6 lumber rafters in a grape arbor, so the ropes can pass through and be tied into a simple knot, works perfectly. Adjust the brass fittings so the bench is level and then tie (basically decorative; the fittings hold the rope well) knots just below. Be careful not to strip the fitting adjusters - brass is soft. And enjoy. This is a REALLY fun piece of outdoor furniture, great to swing in gently while you do whatever you do to relax , ,

This swing is wonderful

This swing is wonderful! Beautiful teak with wonderful brass fittings. I was somewhat concerned about the ropes wearing out quickly but they are working beautifully and when compared to chain hangers this unit is far more pleasant because it swings silently...no rattling chains to reduce soothing serene feeling of the swing motion.
